I have been looking to buy a gravel bike for a while and fell in love with this beauty at the LBS.

It’s the Scott Addict Gravel 30 2026. Costs £2349 new.

I love the colour way and I’m almost ready to take the plunge – is there anything about this bike that should make me think otherwise? Is there more value to be found at this price point? I am still quite new to cycling in general so it is not as clear to me. But monkey brain like shiny new bike.

Wait until the new one comes out and it’ll be reduced in sales everywhere, or even better, 2nd hand for a fraction.

  2. “Dissuade” is the word you were looking for ;-)’

As for the bike, if you like it and can afford it, then why not? But as someone said you’ll be better off buying on sale.

  3. Someone spilled blue paint over the nice frame. You should ask for a discount, as this is clearly B-Tier equipment

I have the Speedster and it’s a fantastic bike, I can only the imagine the Addict is even better. And a beauty at that!

Awesome bike. I wouldn’t want anything with integrated cable routing, they are a pain to service. But that’s me.

  6. I’ll be a grumpy one then
    – pressfit bb
    – headset routing
    – ‘only’ up to 45mm tyre clearance
    – proprietary seatpost

I wouldn’t say it’s all that bad, but I think going wireless on such type of routing might be a good idea

Is it 1by with a 40T in front? May be ok for your usecase but maybe you’d enjoy 2by more.

  8. I ordered the Addict Gravel 20 on Thursday night. It arrives today.

The stoke is real. I’m like a kid at Christmas getting a shiny new toy.

I can’t stop turning my head from my work desk to look down the road that leads to my house every time I hear a vehicle approaching in the hope it’s the courier.

Miles of smiles. Very capable bike.

    Buy it.

  9. It is overpriced and has 12 speed drivetrain. If you wanna replace chains every 1000 km, go for it. I rather stick to a 11 speed drivetrain with 3000 km durability.

120kg weight limit for the bike + rider. If you are heavy and plan on doing bikepacking trips, this might be an issue.
