Anybody enjoy stopping for a slice of pizza during their rides? This one wasn't the greatest but it was still tasty, felt good to stop half way through for a bite to eat and grab some more water.
I'll be getting myself a Camelbak Podium Chill and a Bontrager Bat Cage on the 1st so I can grab a drink while riding. Just have a metal bottle with a screw on lid at the moment.
Just feels so good to get out riding again! Don't know why I ever stopped the past 5 years.
What's your favourite mid-ride snacks? Was just thinking of getting some Granola Bars and maybe bring a PB sandwich or an Apple/Banana as well.

Nice Brodie! Looks like somewhere in southern Ontario.
Pb&j always slaps when you’re hungry from exercising. But for something you can easily throw in a pocket I usually go with Clif bars. Peanut m&ms are great too.
Love me a mid-ride slice! From the looks of this one, did you stop at a friend’s house who gave you a slice of frozen pizza?
I’m too old for that. I’d be getting heartburn like crazy during the last half of that ride.
Young me used to ride 20 miles to a Pastrami place (The Hat) and eat pastrami fries and ride back. No problem.
Ah, nothing like a good pizza pit stop mid-ride! Even if it’s not the best slice, it’s still a nice treat. Plus, there’s something about refueling with carbs on a ride that makes you feel like you’re earning it, right?
As for snacks, I’m all about the classic granola bar — easy to stuff in your jersey pocket and doesn’t get all smushed. I also love carrying a banana — it’s basically a natural energy bar! When I’m feeling fancy, I’ll pack a PB&J sandwich. Something about the peanut butter gives me the fuel to tackle the next hill.
I’m also a big fan of Camelbak Podium Chills — they keep your water cold (which is a game-changer when it’s hot out), and the bite valve is super convenient. Plus, there’s something about sipping mid-ride that feels *extra* satisfying.
And honestly, I get it about coming back to riding after a break. It feels so good to get back in the saddle. Keep that momentum going, and you’ll be cruising like it’s second nature again. Let’s be real, though — the real question is, pizza before or after the ride? 😜
Definitely stopped for falafel before. Usually, I don’t really need a snack, but stopping at a restaurant or something just hits the spot.
Ice Cream, or better yet frozen custard. There is a great frozen custard place about 40 miles (64km) from my driveway. Usually around the time it’s warm enough to enjoy a custard in the warm 75°f (24°c) sunshine, I’m in shape enough for it to be an enjoyable ride rather than an early season slog.
I like left over waffles stuffed with peanut butter and jelly or bananas.
I’ve got two Brodies myself. Always been a fan. There’s a book about Paul Brodie. You can probably find it at your local library if you’re interested. It includes some interesting tidbits about his time with Rocky Mountain and dealings with Kona.
I love a slice of Casey’s pizza and a cold Gatorade on a ride. It just hits the spot.
