“Aluminum alloy 50cm frame bike. Purchased used from a triathloner in 2020. Hasn't seen many miles since. The perfect entry bike for a fitness endurance beginner.”
I would say no to both:
You can find a better used bike than that for slightly more.
That bike is not made for triathlons.
I would not purchase if I was in your shoes.

It’s got to be 20-25 years old now that frame. What group set is it and how many sprockets on the back ?
If things are worn out you could easily double the cost just by renewing chainrings, blocks, chains, tyres etc.
I’d rather spend a bit more and get a new bike that can be fitted to you so it’s the perfect size and have wider tyres and disc brakes.

First of all: is this size good for you? A size 50 is quite small. And size matters, with bicycles
The pro’s of this bike: Cannondale Caad are good bikes, this one is cheap, looks like it is in a good shape and has a very nice Vision triathlon cockpit
The cons: it is pretty old, probably has some worn out parts, the wheels aren’t great and it definitely is not a triathlon bike design wise
Is it a good option to start with triathlons. Yes, why not. Pretty hard to find something better for this price. If you have money to spend, get some nice aero wheels for this bike. If you search on eBay you might find some cool carbon wheels for a bargain.
