  1. Check the chainring is seated correctly and has its top hat washer. Check the the chainring isn’t bent.

  2. If everything is straight, then that’s just how your tension is going to be. No sprocket or drive is going to be 100% perfectly round so there will always be a high point and a low point. Maybe try popping the chain off the sprocket, advancing the pedals several teeth, then put the chain back on to see if it’s any better, but if it were me I probably wouldn’t bother.
