Found this old bike when riding around. I had it converted into a single speed bike I kept everything but the gears, bars, shifter/brake levers, pedals, chain, derailleurs.
Check stolen bike registry and look for hairline cracks in the frame near the top tube and around the stem.
Might not be safe to ride, but if no problems detected… Amazing find

See if there’s some growth hormone stashed behind the bar end plugs.

Those OCLV bikes were game-changers.
Give it a good once over for hairline cracks, or get a bike shop to, as part of a tune up.
And if it turns out it’s not rideable, it’s art.

I dont know what’s crazier, finding this in the trash or making it a single speed lol.

Trek and the US Postal Service sponsored Lance Armstrong when this bike was young

Wow what a great color. And find.
Also to the mention of checking for cracks because it was thrown in the trash. As a new cyclist, if I had an unsafe frame I was throwing out I’d at least cut it in half. 🤷♂️

Why on earth did you feel the need to dump the Ultegra and make it SS?

Garbage carbon is sketchy as hell. Love it.

I used to work at the mold shop that made the head tube, seat/chainstay tube and bottom bracket molds.
