if you're going that slow, you can just hit the clutch first, then the brake. but that's just me🤷🏻♂️ everyone got their own way. as long as it works, right?😂
Ngl these things you learn to do perfectly through repetition after passing your test. To make it even more smooth and (sometimes) more economical you can downshift to engine break.
My driving instructor would get pissed at me for starting to coast and slowly get onto brakes because "you're clearly afraid of other drivers" and "there's no reason you should be this far away from them"
I don’t use brakes I engine brake and use gears hence why I will only drive manual and if it’s an auto has to have a manual mode or manualmatic tell me I’m dangerous but it’s how they drive in the military

We need instructors like this in the US, during driving school a few years ago I had some questionable instructors

clutch went down far too soon, should have changed down earlier and used the gear to slow down

I was taught to change down when approaching traffic why is it now just the bad habit of putting the clutch down

If you shift down you can slow down quicker without braking, hence the term engine braking
