4th iteration. I designed the bike, including the geometry and tube specs, in 2021. Frame actually built by Xian Yongwei Metal Works (XACD). Its a fully internally routed Ti bike with a Carbon ISP.

I own a small company called AProto Bike that primarily makes 3d printed accessories and headset covers/spacers. This road bike gets some of the nicer test parts.

What is new in the 2026 edition of this build?

  • AProto Bike prototype gravel handlebars. They are narrow at ~31mm c-c at the tops and 32mm c-c at the clamping area of the hoods, flaring out to 376mm C-C where your hands rest in the drops. The bar is exactly 400mm o-o. The tops are also shaped flat and dropped to reduce the effective stack height for gravel racing. It's on the road bike, because while it's not the intended use case, it can help some smaller riders who want an aggressive position. This is a carbon sample, so the product is on the way
  • AProto Bike early prototype 3d printed Ti stem (-17 degree) w/ internal routing. Let's call it 80% chance of being a product
  • AProto Bike 3D early prototype printed transition spacer/headset cap and proof of concept 3D printed compression ring
  • AProto Bike mount for the Dynaplug Micro Racer tool on the seat tube bottle cage (NDS)
  • 3d printed, angle-adjustable, out-front combo computer mount, which is specific to the bar
  • Custom 3d Printed ISP +5mm forward offset mast topper w/ prototype AProto Bike +10mm forward offset saddle hardware that replaces Ritchey-style 1 bolt hardware

Rest of Build list:

  • 3T Fundi disc fork (50mm offset) with the cable port shaved and plugged for internal ACR routing
  • DFS / THR Industries R3 hubs laced to DFS 50mm F / 60mm R carbon rims. Front rim profile specifically selected for the Aero 111 front tire
  • Galfer road wave rotors, 160mm F / 140mm R
  • Silca Ti bottle cages
  • 2 Zeno Speedlink couplers so I can drop the fork in about 2 minutes for maintenance and to check on it and not rebleed the brakes each time
  • AProto Bike 3D printed Under Saddle AirTag + Light Mount for Varia Radar
  • Pair of Cane Creek 110 ec44 headset cups
  • Assortment of AXS component: Force E1 shifters, Force D2 cassette and chain, Rival D1 FD, Force D2 RD
  • Custom Ti frame with carbon ISP

Reach is ~395mm stack is ~510mm as measured from the top of the top bearing cup. Very Noah Fast 3.0 like with a suitable steep STA too.

Weight as pictured is ~8kg, including fresh sealant, etc.

Yeah. It's gotten quite the glow up over the years.

Do you have any pictures of you riding it? These intense geos are interesting with how they effect bike fit.
