so my bike had been sat outside for the past 4 years and i decided to start riding again but the back break is not working at all the break lever is completely loose and not an ounce of friction and i cant find how to fix it online so it anyone knows anything about these breaks would be great

if your brake lever feels loose it’s probably air in the hydraulic lines. take it to a bike shop for a proper bleed, they’ll get you sorted out quick.

What a post. My bike sat outside for 4 years and now the hydraulics don’t work… Let’s use some common sense here. I might need to do some maintenance if I neglect my device in such way. Start with bleeding the brakes. Air probably got into it or you might need to replace the lines if they got chewed up by the elements. Also if this is the brakes, you might want to check your bike all over. Do shock maintenance, replace the chain and maybe cassette and make sure all the rest works safely.
