I saw a road bike for sale on the Chinese second-hand platform Xianyu for 100 RMB (about 15 USD). It had all the necessary components, and the most amazing part was that it just had flat tires in the back!

Even though it's obvious the frame and front fork are from a mountain bike, and they've got those really old separate brake and clutch setup, who cares when it only costs 15 bucks!

I'm going to carry my tire pump on my back and pick it up, then ride 20km back to my place (praying it doesn't break on me along the way🙏🏻)

  1. “Highway Deadly” would be a good brand name but the real one is even more creative.l

Edit: Name Origin: The unusual name likely stems from a literal, incorrect translation of the Chinese term for a fixed-gear or road bike (“Dead Fly” often refers to fixed-gear in Chinese).

Yeah the front fork is backwards. Take an allen wrench set so you can spin that thing around.

Odds of being able to ride it home are slim. An admirable and adventurous plan though.
