Published in 1985, the actual advice is a bit dated but it’s a fun read for history and has some great pictures of these bikes on fairly gnarly terrain.
I had to get this used online as it appears to be out of print and not even at my library. It's a fun read and a walk down memory lane of how we used to think of these old bikes when they were the newest thing.
„A bit dated”… indeed. But great window back into those times when mountainbiking was more about exploring nature and adventure rather than performance and bike parks.
My German bike bible is from 1988. Remember they had it in our public library and I was best customer as a 5th grader (before I acquired my personal copy much later). Fun to read the manufacturer overview and bike recommendations section.
I totally forgot about it, but yeah, I got that when it was fresh off the presses… well, probably 1987 anyway. 🙂 Right after I bought my 14 speed Bianchi at Penn Cycle in Richfield, MN.
