Looking to get an entry level disc brake bike. I find it hard to judge the second hand value of older bikes. Any thoughts on how much better newer Canyon bikes are? A new Canyon bike starts at 1099 or 1599 for the CF.
This is a 2018 version that would allow me to upgrade from my Giant TCR with Rimbrakes. Would this be a good deal for <1000 or would that mean: Buy new?

I had this exact bike for 27K miles and it is still going strong for my friend, its second owner. Loved it! This bike does everything well, an especially good climber. I found the bike to be both comfortable and responsive.
If the bike fits you (most important) and is in good condition (no frame damage and drivetrain works well), I would highly recommend it. I’d say a good price (guessing) is $900-1000? It appears to be all stock and the bike cost $2700 when I bought mine in April, 2018.
If you upgrade the wheels to mid-deep carbon in the future, it’ll feel like a whole new bike, able to compete with virtually all modern carbon bikes.
