So far the full cut helmets don’t work for me for wise, currently run a pro-tec half cut in mdm.
Definitely wheee possible best to try on, but obviously most towns/cities don’t have a bmx shop these days locally to try.
If you are getting a new helmet… make sure its certified… if you ever get in a bad crash with a head injury with a non certified you wont be covered medically . Certified ones are a bit more thicker and people say they look goofy but you only got one brain. Coming from someone whos smacked his head a few 2 many times
My protec kept me out of the hospital last season.
I wear the Protec, but my advice will always be to never buy a helmet you can’t try on in person. As long as its certified and fits your head, it’ll be good.
Had the Protec. The same size for the Bucky Lasek (non-certified) that I used to wear was too tight in the certified version. Sized up and it was loose. Also the ear coverage pieces sit way out from my face. Switched to the Bell option and it fits great. I also wear a little neoprene thin sweatband underneath it to help with mitigating sweat drip since the pads on the certified helmets are thinner than the old Protec Bucky Lasek ones I’ve worn since 2001 (switched to certified back in 2020).
