Just received my first Brompton. C Line 12 speed. Swapped out the saddle for a Brooks. I’m getting it ready to take out for a test ride and a bit fell off after I unfolded the bike (picture 2). What is it…? Thanks!

Standard. It’s glued on.witg tape Get some double sided tape and refit. It is what it is. The chain guide also sticky taped on . Brompton crap.
It’s a frame protector against the chain smacking the rear triangle. I think it also protects the frame from the front wheel hook. Hope that helps.
Yep, a lot of people have had bits falling off, even before taking their first ride, really crappy using sticky tape to attach them – not essential, can be left off….
