hey, quick question before I buy the wrong parts.
I’ve got a Trek FX 2 Gen 3 with Tektro hydraulic brakes pretty sure they’re HD-R280 / HD-M285 or similar. I’m adding corner handlebars, and i need to run a longer brake hose.
I’m seeing mixed answers online:
5.0 mm (Shimano style)
5.5 mm (Tektro)
(But apparently some tektro use 5.0 mm)
im kinda new into bike mechanics and dont know what to buy. I could be blind but I cant find any sort of identification for the width.
Any help would be apreciated

I’d try 5.5… you should measure it… get a caliper and measure, they measure smaller, 5.0 will measure like 4.8-4.9 and 5.5 can measure as small as 5.2 on my calipers…
