PBP – Paris-Brest-Paris? No, PRESTWICH-BACUP-PRESTWICH!
Forget the stunning French countryside—we’re taking on a different cycling test: The alternative PBP (Prestwich – Bacup – Prestwich). Join me and the local legend himself, 81-year-old Sir Kenneth, as he tackles his first official Audax since his major cycling accident and a full hip replacement.
Sir Kenneth proves that age is just a number, but, smartphone technology, Lancashire mud and traffic? That’s a different story. In this vlog, we navigate:
Traffic Chaos: Fighting through some of Lancashire’s finest gridlock.
The “closed cycle path”: A short muddy yomp through a literal sinking bog beside a river.
The Clock: We have exactly 4.5 hours to complete the route. Can a man with a new “bionic hip”, accompanied by a buffoon, beat the cutoff time?
We also meet some great fellow riders along the way.

Absolutely brilliant who’d have thought a few months ago. Very entertaining as usual cheers Paul and Sir Ken 🚴♂️🚴♂️🎉👍🏻
Brilliant, well done to you both😊
Loved the video. Thank you for posting it!
Great video and very nice to chat to you on the way round. Traffic after Bacup was a nightmare wasn't it. got back at 1230 so not that far ahead of you. Would be a great Sunday morning ride when a bit quieter
Brilliant video as usual guys and well done to you both on a great effort, you certainly earned your pasties😊
Well done gents. I have to say the best thing about that ride is the title – PBP (love the audax ride names!) Cheers

Well done both, I hope I'm still doing "baby rides" of 50 k when I'm in my 80s, you're doing amazing Kenneth!
Been waiting for another one of your Audax rides, but I was a bit taken aback when I read it was the PBP! I must say, I prefer your version of the PBP 😂 I’m due to take part in my first Audax ride a week on Saturday, just a 50k so I can learn the ropes and see exactly what’s involved in an Audax ride. Well done, guys 👍
