  1. The barrel adjuster isn’t attached to a wheel quick release… it’s attached to your brake arm. Did you try a pair of pliers to turn the adjuster? I’ve never had a stuck barrel adjuster that stayed stuck against pliers.

  2. Aluminum galls if not lubricated. Meaning two pieces will cold-weld themselves together and be virtually inseparable.

    If this happens, you have to replace all threaded parts because the damage is on both sides. So yes, get that ebay one. Lube with a tiny bit of grease or anti-seize on install.

    You should lube any Aluminum-Aluminum interface for this reason.
