I'm newish and looking to get a race-ready gravel bike and came across this listing. 2018 Scott Addict gravel 10 with dt swiss CRC 1400s for $1800 (I'll offer $1500 and meet halfway-ish).
Geometry and size seems like a great fit for me (I have a Primos which is very similar).
I get that the trend has moved on to bigger tires and that the main caveat with a bike like this is clearance. Hard to find manufacturer info on max tire size but I'm thinking I could fit 40s or maybe even 45s on. I currently rip tough gravel and singletrack on 40s on my Primos and I don't need to go full Dylan Johnson.
Most of my riding is on the roads and easier gravel and I could always take the Primos or my hardtail to any really challenging courses.
I was looking at getting a low-level Crux or Grail and this just seems like a no-brainer.
Any reason I should hold back?

Yeah I don’t think you’ll fit 45’s in here. Probably a 42 max. The riders I service that ride this gen are mostly on 38’s. Stated clearance is 40, and the bike came stock with 35’s. 45, if you could fit it, would really be pushing it.
In my mind, the biggest drawback to this bike is the group. I really hate the etap shifting, and these brakes are not the best, especially when they require service. Also, this really lacks the range of a modern gravel bike. Though, this can be extended with an e13 cassette.
Price is OK. About what I’d expect to be for a lower end/older carbon fiber gravel bike.
