I’m considering the B&M IQ-X Dynamo light but I’m a bit concerned about it being permanently attached to the bike. Would thieves target it or is its secure attachment a deterrent?
I’ve had one on my commuter for about a decade, and it’s never been touched.
I don’t think it’s much of a theft target, it doesn’t project high value to a lay person.

Dynamo lights rarely get stolen even in countries where they’re common. Even having lived in Germany and the Netherlands I don’t think I know anyone who’s had one stolen without the rest of the bike getting stolen too.
In Aus/NZ or North America, they’re not even on thieves’ radar, especially not when there are so many easily-stolen rechargeable lights on the other bikes.
