Dad had this sitting around in the back of his shop for who knows how long. Was talking to him about getting back into mountain biking (since the wife said no to a motocross bike lol).

Dad goes I have a Cannondale just sitting in storage in the garage if you want it. My current bike is from like 2007 Iron Horse Maverick 3.0 and its too damn big for me 5'7" as its a 29er and 19.5" frame, and it was cheap back then, cant imagine now.

So how does this Cannondale compare? Is it a decent bike for an average rider going on some basic trails in the foothills of the rocky mountains, gravel roads, crusing around with my Husky pulling me?

It’s the right size for you and it’s free πŸ™‚ ride it and see how you like it. Have fun πŸ€™

  2. It is an older model, but it checks out.

Seriously: It’s old geometry, so there is a risk of going over the bars braking on steeps. Otherwise, looks like 26″ wheels – so you will have to handle it over bumps a 29″ will roll over. Fork probably needs maintenance. Many older folks learned on these. The main thing is: Does it work & fit you? Not much value in it, perhaps $200 in decent shape. Test it, then go ride it & see how it works. All good.
