I was riding today and got a bee in my mouth and it instantly stung me before I could spit it out. Luckily I had a minor reaction. I had to ride about 12 miles with the stinger in my mouth because I couldn’t reach or see it. I stopped and ask a motorcycle gang stopped next to the trail and borrowed a needle nose pliers and used the rear view mirror on a motor cycle to get it out.

Before today it never even occurred to me that this could happen.

Wow that’s bad luck. I thought it sucked when a bee got stuck under my helmet strap and stung me in the face. This seems WAY worse.

  2. I also had one fly into my mouth and tag my tongue before I could spit it out. Feeling the fuzzyness off the bee when it flew in was wild. I mildly react to them and was about 10 miles from home. Hustled home by the time I was home tongue was big enough that swallowing was hard. Never blocked airways luckily.

I had a bee sting inside my ear canal whilst cycling.

Also, one hell of a way to also find out that i was anaphylactic.

Holy eff! I used to get stimgs on my motorcycle… and I occasionally swallow bugs, but to inhale a bee is a whole other level.

I got one behind my sunglasses last year and looked like I lost a prize fight. Also had about 15 miles to go.

  7. I have been chased by bees up a cat 1 road climb (the same climb) on 3 separate occasions. Always in the last 3rd of the climb, after about 9km of climbing with about 3 left to go. On the worst occasion, I got stung 3 times on my butt through my bib shorts.

There’s a flat section at the top of this climb for about a kilometre before you reach a ski lodge. This is how I learnt that bees can fly at 30+ kph if they’re sufficiently mad at you.

I’d say this is far worse.

UGH, NO. One went down my shirt the other day and got me. It’s really making me lose confidence in bees. Although, I’d still rather have 1 sting than any little flies fluttering around my face when trying to climb up a hill.

I also got stung in the mouth on a ride. I gotta admit…. It tasted good like honey. But the sting sucks..
