This is the second top tube bag I've owned, and this one is exactly one year old.

I used to attach the previous one with straps (on my Grail, RIP) but I used the big plastic screws for this one (current bike is a Grizl 7).

I was literally on the way back from a big bike store where I was looking at bags and pouches… That can't be a coincidence.

Problem is half the screws are still in the frame. Should I get in touch with Canyon to get new screws and a technician to remove the leftover bits?

I know I can drill in them, put a small screw then unscrew them out. But since this failure shouldn't have happened, it's probably time to ask Canyon or my insurance to do something about it.

  1. This is the reason why I have used the aluminium screws from the frame instead of these

  2. Happened to me too, I got a free bag with all hardware as a compensation.

I haven’t used it much, because it’s simply too small and for what it does carry, it’s annoying in the city.

  3. Mine did that too. I’d suggest you pick up a set of metric hex screws (aluminum) on Amazon and use those. You’ll fine a box with multiple sizes and lengths. Don’t use steel or anything strong. Aluminum should be soft enough not to damage your frame if the bag gets pulled in a weird direction. I’m sure canyon used plastic so they weren’t liable for frame damage
