I just picked up a Merida Crossway 20.

The stock tyres are Kenda Ambra K1278, 700 x 45. They aren’t a very good tire but they’ll do the job for commuting for now.
With some better, more suitable tires, could this bike do some light gravel trails? Fire trail sort of thing, dry weather, avoiding mud. I think I’ll stick to 45 to leave room for mudguards.
I was considering something like Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H TLR Tyre 700 X 45C Classic, but I’m new to all of this so any advice appreciated 😁

I gravel ride on my road bike with 28mm slicks filled to road pressure. You are fine, but also get gravel tires if you want.
Just go! Those tires are more than adequate. Bring an extra inner tube for if you get a flat.
