I'm having a bad week so I'm making a theoretical tour to cheer myself up
has anyone done a tour of Iceland? what could I expect? when would be the best time to go? would the language barrier be a large issue? I am an English speaker.
is there anything any Icelanders/bike tourists would add? I have bike camped in British Columbia in -10°C (~20F) before and was completely fine but wouldn't want to go much colder than that.

Oh also I have been to Iceland before a long long time ago in the western parts and found it to be the most beautiful place I’ve been
Hi there,
“we” were also thinking about it but tbh, I am put off by the constant cold even in the summer time. Accommodation is expensive and so is food.
Check out [this](https://www.komoot.com/nl-nl/collection/2308154/-iceland-circuit-bikepacking-on-the-ring-road) route done by a German guy. He should be easily identified on Instagram. I am sure he can give you more insights!
I’ve driven that almost exact route and so can’t speak to the cycling aspect but it’s an amazing route and there are generally places to stay. We went in early July and the weather was wonderful, though we always wore a fleece top.
At one point, there was an organized bike race/tour event organized every summer by an icelandic airline. Route map should still be available online somewhere. It was in summertime. My spouse went with a group to ride it around 10 years ago.
