So I'm going to bike the Pieterfietspad in May and I have my gear complete for the 7-8 day trip! I cant wait to start the tour and enjoy my first bikepacking trip! ๐Ÿ˜

The only thing now is that I'm doubting my panniers on the back of the bike if they are necessary. They also look a bit big. I do have to say I always love the look of the sadle bags but I don't know if I can fit everything in there so I choose the panniers. but now I'm doubting.

I'm asking you guys for advice, I'm a beginner and asking for some tips and tricks. ๐Ÿ™

Thanks in advance!

I mean, we have zero idea what you’re packing, whether you’re camping or staying in hotels, what the weather is like etc.

Get all your shit together, try to pack it without the panniers and see how it goes.

Strangers on the internet won’t be able to tell you if the frame/handlebar bag can fit all of your gear, even if you listed the gear we’d have no idea of the volume it all takes up.

If you have to much to fit in your handlebar, bike and top tube bag you can always get a dry bag, stuff it with stuff and tie it onto the rack.

Also, your seat is not level and seems pretty low for the bike.

  3. Empty panniers are not heavy but you have all the space you will ever needย

Especially on your first trip you are going to take along too much stuff anyways.

Sure, panniers are not super stylish but they are super practical. If it rains over night you also have a nice dry space to stash stuff.

  4. The top tube bag facing backwards on the wrong end of the tube is giving me a headache!
    Have a great trip!
