Old looking suzue hub with engraved

"SUZUE

JAPAN

2 E"

Laced to 700c araya wheels with suntour cogs & 36 spokes

I can provide measurements with a caliper and more pics if needed

  1. What kind of hub standard is this?
  2. I am asking because I want to change out the cogs

and change to a coasting single speed if possible?

  1. I also usually see lock ring on a hub like this, do I need to get one?

  2. Taking it apart i might have lost a bearing but im not sure (idk, the race looks a little empty with the 9 that are already inside).

How can I tell how many bearings the hub needs?

Any other info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  1. It’s an old Keirin racing wheel for track bikes. 120mm should be the spacing for track bikes, maybe 110mm if it is old enough.

You can potentially put a SS cog if there are enough threads.

You only need a lock ring if you are running it fixed, SS does not need one.

You’ll probably need another bearing if it looks empty. Should be really not empty space when all bearing are in there.

How many bearings is just whatever fits without being too crowded.
