  1. I think that’s Octalink V2. You can probably verify by looking at the crank’s model number engraved on the backside of the crank.

    This crank is right from the era when Shimano introduced Octalink to the various groupsets, so I’m not sure from the picture.

    You could check by looking from the side or by removing the crank bolt.

  3. There is ussually a small gap betweenthe crank and the side of the BB. If there is a square spindle its a square taper crank.

    You are missing a chainring bolt as well. Yes take off the cranks and you can be certain if it’s a squaretaper or octaink.
