Hi,
My current MTB is on its last legs and looking for a new one. I ride trails in the UK (Chilterns, Cotswolds and Peak District – lots of up and down single track in all weather – nothing too extreme). Budget around £1000.
I previously considered a Trek Roscoe 8 but seems like a new model is coming soon so current models are out of stock and the new models that are coming soon are likely over my budget.
Narrowed down to two:
2) Cannondale Habit HT 1 – £1050
Would be greatful on people's thoughts on the two (or any others similarly priced in the UK)
Thanks

Voodoo has a better fork, worse brakes. The 99 spokes website has cannondale on cues, whereas the link you sent has it on deore. The voodoo is slightly better spec. The cannondale also has trp hydraulic brakes on 99 spokes whereas the website link Shimano basic 4 piston brakes. Maybe someone here could answer if those are good, but I would imagine they have decent stopping power.
Looking at each individual component and geometry, voodoo, better fork, worse brakes, 180/160 on the back seems very very measly. Unfortunately upgrading to deore 4 pistons extra would push it over your budget, so you are kind of locked in regards to that aspect.
I was going to say voodoo, but to me, the more I look at it ‘as long’ as the cannondale’s 4 piston Shimano brakes are good, it seems to have the better overall ride and forget package.
