Anyone have knees that abduct strongly inwards? I had a nightmare year of the bike with chronic issues walking and basic things like driving. Did PT and was getting better, went back to cycling and thought I was doing ok but this week I’m getting a lot of pain again.
Need to hear some positive healing stories pls!

Have you gotten it diagnosed as caused by structural devations at the neck of the femur as opposed to muscular imbalances? Bilateral valgus?
I’m commenting to follow this thread because I have a very similar issue
That sounds really frustrating. I’m hypermobile, so sometimes have trouble with my joints because of that, too. First off — if you’re in pain, please remember you deserve to take time to recover. Do some of your PT exercises to help stabilize the knee, if you know them.
How’s your bike fit? You could try posting here or on r/bikefit to help you troubleshoot. I’ve noticed that when my seat isn’t just right, my joints tend to act up a bit. There are also pedal extenders that can help give you a wider stance, so you might want to check those out at a LBS. If you wear cleats, adjusting the placement might help, too.
Anecdotally, I’ve had way less problems with my lower-body joints ever since I started cycling regularly. They’re unfortunately not inexistent, but definitely less common and less severe. Here’s hoping you can root out the issue and feel better so you can ride soon.
This isn’t genu valgum. The problem doesn’t appear to be at the knee. The femur is internally rotated at the hip, a condition called femoral anteversion.

I have a similar situation, where my feet point outward after an old injury, but if my feet point forward, it manifests similarly. I did some flexibility work and rotated the cleat placement on my bike shoes until my knees stopped hitting the top tube. Took some getting used to, and my heels occasionally strike.
I actually use it to my advantage, as I can get into a fantastic aerodynamic tuck with my knees against the top tube. I’ve actually had people ask how I trained to get that aero.
