That first picture looks like the wheel isn’t proper seated in the fork. Check that first.

The brakes look fine, the wheel is not set properly in the dropouts (it is noticably slanted)

It could just be the angle of the picture, but that wheel does not look right. The other person commented that the wheel isn’t correctly in the dropouts. That’s also possible. From here, it looks like the wheel is bent, but I can’t tell.
See if you can straighten out the wheel in the dropouts so it’s centered between the arms of the fork.

The vbrake noodle isn’t fully seated in the brake arm, and the wheel isn’t in the dropouts of the fork properly. Loosen the axle nuts and pull the wheel all the way up into the dropouts. If the wheel still isn’t centered you have other issues.
Start with those two things and see where it gets you

Thanks all! I’ve reseated the wheel and now the brake looks better but now the calipers are like rubbing the rim. How do I fix that part?

1. Watch a Youtube video about V-brakes before asking Reddit. Seeing takes 10x faster than waiting for a responses back and forth. **Work smarter not harder.**
2. One side is stuck on the wheel, fix it.
3. Re-adjust. If the springs have lost it’s effectiveness too much you can remove the brakes and enter it in one of the other 3 pinholes.

wheel is not straight or set correct in fork.
with bike on floor, open and reclose the quick release skewer for the wheel, that should help the wheel properly in the fork drop outs.
additionally, the “J” arm for the brake arm is not properly set. the J shaped part of the brake cable housing.
