Looking around Facebook marketplace for my first road bike. I’m 5’11” male. I love running and would like to start biking. Would be used on trainer and occasionally longer rides outside. Was contemplating spending $2k on specialized allez comp or just finding something used on marketplace. How is this?

Great bike, but this is way too expensive
That bike probably retailed for ~$650 ~15 years ago. That is a 300-400 bike. There is not much of anything that makes a Trek Alpha 1.2 sought after. It is the Toyota Corolla of road bikes. It is a fine bike. However it does not have anything done to it that would increase the value such as a power meter or better wheels.
What a complete BS description.
