Please help me out! I know ZERO about tubeless tires! I recently developed a significant leak in a front mtb tire. After doing some research, I decided to replace the sealant. After taking tire off the rim to clean, I noticed a small corner on the rim tape pulled up. Doesn't appear to be significant but I'm asking should I replace the tape? Hope the pics help. Tires are 29×2.6 if that helps…Thanks in advance!

  1. Should be fine. Dry up the moisture, then add a strip of electrical tape, or a dot of super glue to hold it down.
If the tire sealed and held air previously, it still should with this tape.

  2. Could be but from the looks of it probably not. Reinstall the tire, set the pressure to something reasonable and spray so soapy water all over (or put it under water in the sink) to figure out where the leak is coming from. If it’s a tire punch add new sealant, if it’s leaking from the valve stem try tightening it, if it’s leaking from the spoke holes re-tape. You didn’t give us a lot so you’re going to need to do some further diagnosing.
