However it looks like you installed the bottom bracket without any spacers which causes it to stick out like that.
A bottom bracket usually has 3 washers to convert a 68mm to a 72mm.

It takes usually one 2.5mm bb spacer to get it on right. The telling factor is location of front cogs relative to cassette. It’s the chain that takes all the bad with improper alignment, and the goal is to minimise chain angle excess. By that, we prevent excessive chain wear, and prolog it’s work life.
