hey,
This is my new Hardrock project and I've been trying to find the year of the frame base on the colorway and the serial number. The seatpost diameter is around 26.6 or 26.8 I think (do not have digital calipers buy my analogue ones put me in the ballpark). I don't know if that helps.
On a different note, does anybody know where to find a cheaper (than most options(cash is low)) pair of bullmoose style bars in silver? I'm all ears.

Google every possible year of the bike and note the color so we don’t have to. 🤷♂️
I read the title and was like “hell yeah, may we all find our hardrocks this year”
I’d go for a 1992 HardRock Sport. In the catalogue the other colorway is pictured (greenish), so it’s easy to overlook.
I think my 90 and 91 Stumpjumpers had 26.8 seatpost diameter – doesn’t your seatpost have that number engraved somewhere below the min line?
I would start with the online catalogs on Retro Bike. Then I would check the components make sure they are the original as spec’d. Then I would find the codes on those components and compare them to the shimano code list on the internet. It’s not a perfect system but you can do this easily. Best of luck.
