Not a bad frame to screw around with. I’ve had lots of fun converting wheel sizes on a disc brake mtb. If it’s too big that actually works well for converting to road/gravel bike with flat bars if it’ll take +32c tires.
But also, yes, if that seat post isn’t wedged in you should do it!!!

Absolutely. You could even give them the money, snag the seat and post and leave the bike behind.

Buy it, keep the seatpost then clean it up to working condition and donate it to a homeless shelter or other community group. It’s a great way to learn about working on bikes.

  4. I had bought plenty of bikes for components. Buy it swap out any parts you need with parts you have and list a working bike for $100.

Yes! Just bought a 100 dollar bike for parts. Was pleasantly surprised when I found springs instead of rotten elastomers in the rock shock Judy. First vintage fork that I ever seen with maintenance…

Are you sure it’s 27.2mm? It could be a Thomson because it’s like 25.8mm and that was the only one available, and then you have a seatpost for a size which one finds on like seven total bicycles ever made.

I bought a cheap fat bike (a raleigh funny enough) a while back because it had a much nicer set of wheels on it than what it came with mine, and much much nicer than what would have come on it. I wanted to keep the wheels from mine so the frame and everything just sat until I found a cheap wheelset. When I finally found one I brought the frame to make 100% sure the wheelset was the correct spacing anmd I ended up selling the thing to the guy with the wheels lol. Saved myself having to set up the wheels and sell the bike.

Where do you find bikes at such a low price? I can’t find an ordinary bicycle in driving condition under €150

  9. Buddy I’ve bought entire cars for parts before… I’ll buy a bike for $35 all day lmao.
