Trying to decide between these two on FB Marketplace. Currently riding a 2017 Allez with Claris so either one is a huge upgrade.
The Cervelo is a 2023 Soloist with Rival eTap AXS wireless shifting, disc brakes, 58cm. Original owner, under 1k miles, has an ENVE stem and Coefficient RR bars.
The Canyon is a 2020-2021 Ultimate CF SL with full Ultegra, rim brakes, 57cm. Second owner, also low miles.
I ride around NYC and do Zwift, not racing or anything. Is the Cervelo worth the extra $1k or would you just grab the Canyon and call it a day?

If you’re serious about riding you’ll likely feel the need to upgrade from the canyon soon enough given that it has mechanical shifting + rim brakes. Not is wrong with these if you’re on a budget, but it won’t maintain its value and is considered a bit outdated compared to rival AXS + disc brakes. You can also run wider tires on the soloist which will make the ride more comfortable and maybe even faster
