The RockCombo is a rare bike, these were a one-year deal that was slightly bungled in execution and are fairly sought-after (or were a few years ago). I have a buddy that found one locally for a deal, he likes it a lot.

Seems a bit small for whoever rode it last

  2. It’s an early production gravel bike with road bike handlebars in 1989. The 90s trek 7000 was a gravel bike that is similar geometry but with flat bars. I still ride my 1992 Trek 7000 every day, I’ve yet to find anything that handles as well. You’ll really like it.

  3. I had one for a while. They are very neat pieces of history but they don’t ride super well.

Yours looks pretty much all original. You should keep it that way whether you hold on to the bike or not. This is one instance where that’s better than harvesting parts.

  4. Junk, I’ll take it off your hands…… it’s a gem!! Refurbish it and shred it!!! Unless of course you want to give it to me….

I’ve always thought that someone should make a modern 26″ RockCombo, like Handsome Cycles made reproduction XOs a number of years ago. Maybe it’s too niche, or maybe it’s not niche enough..

  6. Just out of curiosity, where in central PA?

I swear I saw this same bike on Craigslist a decade ago lmao

Would totally grab it if it was my size

It is hard to tell what it is because the branding and model name are ao minimalist and understated.

As sought after as these have become, I would recommend anyone who wants one to seek out a late ’80s or early ’90s Stumpjumper (or even RockHopper) frame and build your own take on it; the Rock Combo shared a frame with the Hard Rock IIRC, whereas Stumpys or that era were Tange Prestige.
