Hi everyone,
I’m seriously considering buying a Canyon Inflite CF SLX 7 because the current discount makes it very tempting (2999€ instead of 4499€).
Before pulling the trigger, I have two questions.
Gravel use:
I know the Inflite is designed as a cyclocross bike, but could it work well for gravel riding? My plan would be mostly gravel roads and light trails, no cyclocross racing. Has anyone here used an Inflite as a gravel bike? Are there any real downsides compared to a dedicated gravel bike?
Sizing:
I’m also a bit confused about sizing. I’m 181 cm tall with a 79 cm inseam, and according to Canyon’s sizing chart I feel like my proportions don’t really match their recommendations.
Does anyone with similar measurements ride an Inflite? What size did you choose and how does it fit?
Thanks a lot for any advice.

I have an Inflite that I use for CX and gravel during the offseason. It does fine on light and compact gravel, but a little tricky on loose gravel. Only down sides are; no fender mounts, and less tire clearance than all other gravel bikes. Canyon states a max tire width of 35mm although a 38 can easily fit on the front. I love mine though and also got a really good deal, but also race CX.
I’ve got one and it’s great on gravel. 178 / 81cm and size S. Fits perfectly
