Grant Petersen absolved my sins and I am now a Rivendell owner. The Kool-Aid tastes good, but only one ride so far and the bars are too narrow (others on the way). This is way nicer than most of my other bikes but was fun to build up.

Gorgeous bike! The rear wheel is WAY out there, how does that feel when riding it? What’s the reasoning?
And the award for most stable handling bike in this group goes to… this beauty.
Also, this is such a super classic build, all the way down to the brake choice.
What handlebars are those?
