I bought this stem of questionable origin on amazon mainly for the looks, as I'm a sucker for oilslick parts and none of the reputable brands offer stems like this with 100 mm length. Unfortunately, this is what the finish looks like after less than two years. It is chipped off in patches on the bottom.
Do you know any colorful stem options (purple anodized would be ok as well) at 100 mm length that will actually last?

Oof… Are you sure it’s a stem issue? I have never seen stem bolts that rusted, except for the ones found on abandoned bikes that has been exposed to the elements for months
How much money are you willing to put into the stem? Because you could probably get a good stem and get it anodised by someone more competent than those who did it here
I have a 30 and 40 oil slick from spank and both have flaking outer layers if it makes you feel better.
stop sweating on it
I have some brake levers that did that. I don’t think it’s a true anodization. I think it’s a painted finish. It’s flaking off
Look for Titanium Bike Stem in rainbow Color in your favorite web search engine. Not cheap but omit is buy for life.
That looks more like a coating and not anodization.
Rinse your sweat off of it!
That’s from sweat
Looks like paint and not real anodized aluminum to me
Oil slick just makes your bike look like a gas station pocket knife.
>purple anodized would be ok as well
