If they tell you it will probably heal without surgery, push for the surgery anyway. I see my 3rd different trauma/ortho/shoulder surgeon this Friday and I broke mine last July

Ooo. So sorry you’re living with that. Falling off a bike is how I broke my clavicle too. Never had pain like that before or since.
I broke my clavicle in three places (a break with a bone ‘chip’ floating around. I was considered on the fence regarding surgery and opted to forego the procedure. It took awhile to recover (4-6 weeks) and other than not being symmetrical on both side I’m fine. For what it’s worth my daughter broke her clavicle a week before (equine related) and she didn’t have surgery either. She had a fracture as opposed to an actual break. Surgery isn’t without risks and any time I that I have an option I go without surgery.
