  1. Check tires, see if they’re bald, damaged, or if the rubber is aged.

    Check brake pads, brake cables status

    Check chain, see if it’s too worn

    Check rims for eventual cracks or damage

    Check frame, stem for cracks or damage

    I think that’s about it. If there are other issues they will show up eventually, but shouldn’t be safety issues.

  2. 1. corrosion under bartape in tops area
    2. loosen bolts
    3. rims wear indicator
    4. frame cracks
    5. repairing jobs due to crash (by comparing painjob with online photos)
    6. brake cables and shifting cables wear status (check the head in the shifters), not pleasant when the cable snaps during a ride and you have to ride 40km on 50-11 ahah.
    7. loosen cassette (also not fun)
    8. worn chain, cassette, chainring, brakepads

    Also if you have a torque wrench you could check with that too. Hope it helps
