hello. i am 5 feet 100lbs and i plan to do a sprint marathon this august. idk about bikes at all. i was looking for something cheap but with quality since i don’t really know if i would like to do other triathlons. i saw this on fb marketplace and i’m wondering if this is a good deal.
also advice is encouraged as a first timer 🙏

good choice! make sure the tires don’t have any dry cracking and the bikes brakes work and it shifts into all of the gears and you’re good to go
That’ll do!
Reach could be alright, but I very much doubt you’ll be able to stand over this bike. Some people are alright with that and just learn to mount and dismount over the rear wheel instead. If not you might be better off with something with a lower/angled top tube. Possibly even smaller wheels.
Essentially, make sure you test ride before you commit. Try and bring an allen key/multi tool so you can adjust the saddle.
What size is it. I’m your height and I modded a kids bike because I had issues with sizing.
It was my first road bike. I regret selling it.
Great starter bike as long as it fits.
Perfect. I had a very old used cheap kestrel for my first sprint. I passed so many people on carbon tri bikes. Don’t even bother with clip on tri bars. They are more dangerous than the benefit, if any. Just stay in the drops or get as low and aero as possible.
It’s not the bike. It’s the engine (you).
