Sounds like a broken pawl in the freehub. Probably the tip broke off one of them.

Dry, damaged freehub. Chain sounds super dry as well.
That bike is parched… feed it some lube.

  2. you don’t have to take your spokes out to check out your hub. You just gotta take out the wheel from the frame

  3. Check if anything is too tight.

Are the bearings adjusted too tight?

Is the chain running with zero slack?  Any slight eccentricity in the freewheel will stress the chain even when coasting. You want to be able to push down the chain by a quarter inch.

This is where you learn all about free wheel hubs and ratchet teeth. You’ll need to watch some videos on how to disassemble your hub. You may need to buy or borrow a tool or two. Something inside the hub needs replacing or repairing, probably a pawl (the little sprung ‘tooth’ or lever inside that clicks when you freewheel or backpedal and which engages to turn the wheel when you pedal forwards.

Leave the spokes alone, you need to undo the wheel nuts and remove the wheel, then see what’s needed to undo the freewheel.
    It may be like this:

And replacing the whole freewheel may be the best option if you can find the same cheap online.
