Finally finished my little year long project, that ultimately spiralled out of control, cost-wise.

The plan was to harvest usable components from my already-modified-but-now-too-small 2008 Cannondale Chase 1 from my youth, to make a budget friendly and more versatile bike snowballed somewhat, resulting in a sort of MTB/sort of ATB/sort of hybrid thing, with needlessly tough rims.

Turns out the only original bits from my Chase are now the Deemax wheelset and hubs, drivetrain (cassette, derailleur, shifter) cranks, and BB.

I intend to use it as a bit of a commuter here in the UK, some gravel rides, and the odd long-distance thing.

Frame is a Large, I’m 6’3ā€, but damn do 26ā€ wheels look small these days.

I welcome your thoughts/recommendations!

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an ARC with a rigid fork, I guess you just found one, painted it, and got some decals, or was that a thing at some point?

Love the yellow Mavic hoops and hubs! I kind of miss the loud colors, though I don’t miss the massive branding all over everything.

    Bike really looks great btw.
