I took the inner tube out of my bike because I thought it had a puncture, and it did have air, but the level had dropped. I inflated it to see if there was anything wrong with it, but I didn't find anything, and it didn't deflate. It was really hard to remove the wheel, and I realized the inner tube was wider than my old bike. Could it have deflated because it's so wide?

I forgot to say the wheels have the same width
Inner tubes are not 100% impermeable, they will deflate if you give it enough time.
Width has nothing to do with it. Tubes do loose pressure just generally and more so at different temperatures. Add in valve leakage as a possibility as well.
Fill a sink and submerge it if you want to check for pin holes.
I keep all my bikes in my house on a rack, so it’s in a controlled environment, and I still lose psi
