I wore mine out, when I was still riding on SPDs, and they were great shoes.

I really miss this style of bike shoe. Everything just looks way too techy these days. This is a perfect blend of sporty and casual. The velosambas are ok but really suck for mtb and are incredibly narrow.

I like platform pedals, as big as I can get (currently CrankBro’s Stamp Large) so I can wear street shoes with flexible soles and not get hot-spots. These days I just ride around the city; commuting/errands.
When I would do mountain biking in BC I ran clipless and that was a huge performance bonus, including riding lift parks. Tried the whole 5.11 sticky rubber shoes + long pin setups but I didn’t like not being able to reposition my foot without lifting it up. Clipless you can just bang it on the perfect position every time.

Man, I remember those getting caught in toe clips. Had to made the transition to clipless.

I used a pair of SH-M057 for over 20 years, until the sole rubber started to disintegrate. I would buy it again if it still existed.
Now I use an FLR Rexston, a Vaude Minaki Mid II STX for winter, and just bought a Bontrager Evoke I did not start to use yet.

Just regular flats. I like wearing regular shoes.

I love five tens. They occasionally have them at Ross or eBay for very cheap. The freerides are my favorite at the moment.

On a road bike I want clipless. Having flats at that kind of speed is spooky.
On more casual bikes I have flats. I want to try the double sided SPD pedals so I can do either/or on my Univega.

I use platform pedals, not platform shoes. And they have very sharp pins.
But usually, my shoes are Scarpa Mojitos (non-GTX) I don’t use 5.11 and the like any more as I like a bit more grip off of the pedals too.
I am considering buying some Scarpa Primitive boots or similar (also non-gtx)

I had a pair of Diadora SPDs I bought in 1999 and rode for 20 years. They were amazing, perfect, indestructable. So I went and looked for a pair of the exact same thing and GUESS WHAT. I found a New Old Stock pair in my size for $20. The holy grail!
Turns out the rubber in the outsole has a clock on it and they exploded when I tried to ride on them. I got some Bontaragers. They’re ok.

I use Altra Lone Peaks. I’d love a pair of SFA Leviathans but the shipping situation from the US is a bit too spicy right now

I ride with adidas Velosambas. They look like normal sneakers but have clips. Also great for commuting because I can walk normal with them. The sole is stiffer then normal sneakers but still okay to walk in

I just wear vans pro skate shoes

Check out the Giro Tracker. Not a techy looking shoe and works well with flat pedals.
