Any idea what could be causing the rear thru axel to bind up like this? I built up a Time ADH recently, and everything went together, and has been working, smoothly, until now. Even if I tighten the thru axel to 4nm and immediately go to remove it, it’s still binding and making this horrible noise.
The axel threads are greased, look new and installs smoothly. The hanger was removed, greased, and confirmed to be straight. It was back to normal, briefly, after doing all of that, but after a couple of rides, the binding is back.

Remove the wheel and see if the TA goes in smoothly until the head of the TA touches the dropout. Do NOT crank on it to force it in and do NOT tighten past that point…it’s just to check if the dropouts are concentric and the threads ok.
