My 1993 GT team avalanche. Spent a bit of a pretty penny for this guy as it's a 23" c to c frame, one of a few rare sizes big enough to fit tall people like me! The paint is in pretty good condition, and I love that it is cool and unique but not super loud. The hits of color don't scream at you but if you look twice you'll notice!
Kind of went for a black and blue vibe here as there's a few shades of blue within the paint. Brooks saddle, Stridsland bullship bars, and a Basil portlander rack that I rigged up with a wald standoff kit to fit my fork eyelets rather than the dropouts. My dad had a brand new deore XT 11 speed in his parts bin just begging to be used so I threw it on with the help of a wolf tooth Goatlink. Some vintage odyssey bmx pedals for now and a cheapy Amazon chainring got me the form/function I wanted. An Origin 8 threadless stem adapter with some assembly compound to help with the slippage let me install these beautiful handlebars. Still need to get a set of matching tires (what do y'all think, tan-wall or black?) and probably some spikier pedals cuz this thing sees it's fair share of singletrack.

This to me is the epitome of a slow bike or xbike, learned so much along the way and love the way the bike rides and handles. Lots of cool features on the frame (adjustable dropouts on the fork) and it's not quite as heavy as others (double butted tubing). Let me know what y'all think I should do next in the comments!
Peace ✌🏻

  1. I have the same bike. I run them with the homage tires in the limited edition sand beige color.

  2. There isn’t such a thing as a final form on this sub.

But your current version is pretty great! Nice job.
