I have a 3/8 torque wrench and it doesn't fit on the BBT 22 as I assume it's 1/2 size. What tool or adapter do I need to connect them together as I seem to need to torque it to 30-40Nm for the spider onto the cranks.

A 3/8” to 1/2” adapter..? Any auto parts store will have one. Or just use a 3/8 drive socket that fits the 6 point portion of the tool drive. Looks like 17 or 19mm if you have the same as the photo.

You can get adaptors at your local hardware stores. The 3/8 – 1/2″ allows you to use the smaller 3/8″ wrench with a larger 1/2″ socket.
