Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice on choosing a belt‑driven commuter bike. I ride about 25 km daily in all conditions (rain, sun, snow), so low maintenance and year‑round reliability are the top priorities. So is a drop bar as it makes biking so much more fun.
The ride itself is around ~200 height meters total, and on road at all times (no off road).
I’m currently looking very seriously at the Booda Bike Hiker with the Alfine 11 hub, CDX belt clocking in at € 2.321,71. Since I’m based in Scandinavia, Booda is accessible for me within the EU. (https://boodabike.com/en/product/booda-bike-hiker-l-553?srsltid)
I was also looking at the Priority Apollo, but since it’s US‑only, importing it to the EU would make it unreasonably expensive. So I’ve had to rule that one out. (https://www.prioritybicycles.com/products/priority-apollo?srsltid)
My big question is: are there other solid EU‑available alternatives to the Booda Bike Hiker in the same belt‑drive + internal hub space, ideally Alfine 11 or equivalent?
I’m pretty set on a belt drive for the low maintenance, and I don’t need anything super fancy beyond a reliable commuter that can handle Scandinavian weather.
So:
• Is the Booda Bike Hiker the best option at this price point?
• Are there other EU bikes I should compare it to?
• Anyone commuting long‑term on the Hiker or similar setups?
Thanks in advance!

i have booda hiker, it is a great bike, but communication with customer service is abysmal
I ride a belt drive bike in Denmark and its great no matter what you go for. I’ve had a Cube Editor that got stollen and I currently ride the Creme Ristretto Bolt which I absolutely love. So check those two out if you haven’t. Booda looks like a solid choice if you want drop bars. Don’t buy the priority as they’re American based and difficult to import it in.
